Granting dbo ASSEMBLY EXTERNAL_ACCESS permissions

Hi all,

I have tried to create an asembly with PERMISSION_SET = EXTERNAL_ACCESS
under SQL Server 2005 but i failed so far.
I also see the TRUSTWORTHY Property for the database as disabled and
can't enable it.
I know that the sysadmin has the full authority for all activities, but
i'm logged in as the system xp admin account and i tried to add a
server role to grant the dbo sysadmin rights, but i also failed.
Can some one please help?

Best regardsTry to set the property with TSQL:

ALTER DATABASE <Database> SET TRUSTWORTHY ON

dbo is a database role, yo you can grant the dbo sysadmin rights.
Sysadmin rights have to be granted on the server basis.

And the error messages are for the various things that fail are?

If you are logged into Windows with admin privs, and connect to SQL Server
with Windows authentication, you will have sysadmin rights in SQL Server,
unless you've removed BUILTIN\Administrator

Got rows that I can't get rid of

I was working with my DB. I wrote some unit test it failed and I didn't
clean up it correctly in the code. So usually in this case I just go to DB
and clean it myself by hand and lean my lesson. But this time some records I
just can't delete - it tells me that record doesn't exists because it was
modified by other user ?
I restarted machine - didn't help.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Shimon. How are you trying to delete?
Is There a Primary Key on this table?
The message you describe sounds like an ADO or ODBC message. Can you just
go to query analyzer and do a Select and see if the row is in the database?

Everytime I refresh the query it returns me that record exists. II try to
delete dependent connected (with foreign rel) records that tells me that I
can't because there are related records.

Good old Login failed for user

I had to re-install Sql Server and now I can't log on. I get...

Login failed for user 'JobsWeekly_Login'.

I can't see anything wrong with the connection string. It used to work.Might re-installing Sql Server have got its knickers in a twist?

Cheers, WT.

When you re-installed SQL Server, did you re-add that user with the same password and give it the correct permissions on the database that you're trying to access.|||

As far as I know I've done it all.

I deleted the user, added a new login, assigned the db to the login and added all the permissions. Then using this logon I was then able to log onto the database with Management Studio and browse the tables.

|||So, does that mean it's working now?|||No, the web app I'm working on can't log on to the db.|||To rule out the obvious, is everything in your connection string perfect (server address, username, password, database. etc.)?|||

I haven't touched it since it was working...

"data source=TEST;User ID=JobsWeekly_Login;Password=password;"

The default database is set on the login. The db and ISS are both on my local machine by the way.

|||Ahh, its working. I changed the password to 'pass'. I think having the password as 'password;' confused the connection string parser. Perhaps it interpreted the ';' as a delimiter instead of part of the password. Still, it worked before! Thanks for your help.

gmaniz service failed

Dear all,
please help me to find error about 'the gmaniz service failed to start
due to the following error'
Thanks
This is not a SQL Server service. In fact, I didn't get one single hit (except this post) on Google.
My guess is that this is some in-house developed software, so you need to find what it is and talk
to the people responsible for it.
